Janice Louise Stovall Russell Bell, 85, of Spanishburg, died Friday, November 2, 2012 in a Bristol, Tennessee medical center. Born March 6, 1927 in Spanishburg, she was the daughter of the late James Albert Stovall and Edna Lura Moye Stovall.
She worshipped at Stovall Ridge Baptist Church and was a former employee of Maidenform in Princeton. She was a school teacher in Mercer County for 29 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, was active in the Mercer County Historical Society, Bibbee Bird Club, DAR, UDC, Phi Delta Kappa and was a charter member of the Mercer County Quilting Club. She loved family reunions and enjoyed visiting her friends at the Commission on Aging.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Fred Russell Jr. and one sister, Judith Stovall.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Davis and husband, Larry of Tazewell, Va. and Cheryl Foley and husband, Marshall of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Lois Riemer of Spanishburg and one brother, Glennon Stovall and wife, Lucille of Princeton; six grandchildren, Brian Foley, Robert Foley, Mark Foley, Karen Collins, Michael Davis and Sherri Hankins and ten great-grandchildren, Kestrel Collins, David Collins, Ryan Hankins, Justin Hankins, Tara Hankins, Nicole Hankins, Evan Hankins, Alex Davis, Zachary Davis and Kaitlyn Foley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Reid Cemetery in Spanishburg.
Friends may visit at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012.
