HORSEPEN, Va. —
Harold Lewis Bowman, age 85, of Horsepen, Va., died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his home. Born August 2, 1927 at Tazewell, Va., he was a son of the late Howard and Mary Hash Bowman.
He was a member of the Assembly of God. Mr. Bowman was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. During his illness, his days were made more comfortable by the compassionate and caring attention given by the nurses of Legacy Hospice.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Bowman and Joe Bowman.
He is survived by three sisters, Frances Jones of Horsepen, Va., Mary Tabor and Virginia Marrs both of Bluefield, W.Va.; one brother, Carl Bowman of Denton, N.C.; five nieces; two nephews; six great-nieces and four great-nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Curtis Shrader officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
