BLUEFIELD — William “Eugene” Gillenwater
LAKE SHAWNEE — William “Eugene” Gillenwater went home to be with the Lord and to join his late father William “Harvey” Gillenwater and daughter Evenlaneline “Angie” Gillenwater-Shultz on April 07, 2013 at his home in Lake Shawnee.
Eugene was born August 28, 1954 in Bluefield, W.Va., to Alma Jean Gillenwater and the late William “Harvey” Gillenwater. He served his county with the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War. We have lost a good man, dear friend and a great father.
He leaves behind his: Loving Mother: Alma Jean Gillenwater of Lake Shawnee, W.Va.; Ex-Wife and lifelong friend: Carol Elizabeth Gillenwater of Lashmeet, W.Va.; One Son: Harley Davidson and wife Lisa of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Two Daughters: Crystal Beth Gillenwater-Gravely and husband Charles of Green Valley, W.Va., Brooke Allison Gillenwater and companion David Jenkins of Princeton, W.Va., Brother: James Lee Gillenwater and wife Crystal of Princeton, W.Va. Sisters: Dora “Kay” Clark and husband Robert of Rural Retreat, Va., Virginia “Diane” Presnell and companion Keith Jeffries of Smithville, Tenn., Carol Sue Hudson of Binton, Va., Patty Hale and children of Canton, Ohio. A host of cousins, nieces, nephew's nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Special Friends: Marketta Howell of Peterstown, W.Va., Daleanna Christian of Williamson, W.Va.
Friends and family may call at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Setser officiating. Burial will follow at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Va., with full military honors. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
