Tommy J. Keatley, 78, of Highland Avenue, Princeton, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Princeton Health Care with his loving family by his side.
Born January 31, 1936, in Bozoo, he was the son of the late O.C. Keatley and Ethel Pennington Keatley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Charlie Keatley, Bill Keatley and Buck Keatley along with his only sister, Wilma Conner.
Tommy was a retired Master electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W. Local #637 for more than 38 years, having traveled all across the country.
Tommy will long be remembered for being a practical joker, an avid WVU Mountaineer fan and was of the Baptist faith. While his health permitted, he loved being outside tending his garden and working in his yard. Tommy was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was a past member of the AF & AM Masonic Lodge #134, Princeton.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Betty Gunnoe Keatley, along with his four children: Laura Keatley Eaddy and husband John of Greenville, NC, Anita Keatley Ruggles and husband Andrew of Hickory, NC, Polly Keatley Waddell and husband Nathan of Princeton, and Tommy J. Keatley Jr. of Princeton; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. One brother, Bob Keatley of Philadelphia, PA. And his extended family at Princeton Health Care Center who loved and cared for him with great love.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 20, 2014 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Bob Boozer and Danny Gunnoe officiating. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Princeton with Christopher Suiter, Tripp Carey, Jason Leonard, Adam Hayes, John Alexander, Mark Stella, Brian Walker and Danny Hunter serving as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
