BRUSHFORK — Grace Verna Hankins

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — Grace Verna Hankins, age 76, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away April 2, 2013 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, Virginia.

She was born in Baptist Valley, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Luther M. and Sarah Grace Tabor Hankins.  She was a 1955 class graduate of Richlands High School. She retired from Birdmont Manor Nursing Home in Wytheville, Virginia. Ms. Hankins worked as a mother and counselor for Presbyterian Children's Home in Wytheville, Virginia. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist in Wytheville, Virginia and attended Community Heights Baptist Church in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. She lived most of her life in Baptist Valley and Wytheville.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Irene Hankins; two brothers, Jessie William Hankins and Ralph Edward Hankins.

She is survived by: one sister: Alice Marie Hankins of Baptist Valley, Virginia; one brother: Roger Hankins and wife, Gwen of Baptist Valley, Virginia; nephew: Jonathan and wife, Jessica of San Francisco, California  niece: Laura Vencill and husband, Robert and their son, Paul of Belfast, Virginia. A host of family and friends also survive.

Memorial services for Grace Verna Hankins will be conducted Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Craig Barber and Rev. Delmar Somoskey officiating.
