STATESVILLE, N.C. —
Norma Gray Meredith Heinlein, 79, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at her home. She was born February 15, 1934 in Bluefield, W.Va. and was the daughter of the late Henry Max Meredith and Okey May Gillespie.
On September 30, 1977 she was married to Joseph Heinlein, who died in 1994. She was of the Methodist faith and was retired after 30 years of service at Oak Hill Country Club, in Rochester, N.Y., as an executive secretary.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Holman, of Statesville and son Mark, of Florida, a grandson, Jack Farewell and a granddaughter, Tina Farewell, both of Statesville, two grandsons, Mark (Kimberly) and Jon, both of Florida. She is also survived by two great-grandsons, Jack and Brian Farewell, both of Statesville and a great-grandson, John, of Florida, three sisters, Irene, Betty, and Sharon and one brother, Buck. She is further survived by a special niece Vickie Hart along with numerous nieces, nephews and one life-long friend Violia Quick.
A funeral service for Mrs. Heinlein will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Rocky Gap Methodist Church, in Rocky Gap, Virginia, with the Rev. Rod Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Park Cemetery, in Green Valley, W.Va. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the church.
