Florence Lois Deaumer Taylor

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Florence Lois Deaumer Taylor, age 104, of East View Adult Care, Bluefield, VA, formerly of 319 College Ave., Bluefield, WV traveled her last walk to her Heavenly home Friday, March 28, 2014, of natural causes.

Lois was born February 26, 1910, in Logan, WV to Theodore Oscar “T.O.” Deaumer, Sr. and Henrietta Black Deaumer. She graduated from Beaver High School and Bluefield Business College; was a supervisor for and retired from Celanese Corp. in Narrows, VA. Lois lived a full life of many walks up East River Mountain with her father; caring for her 3 younger siblings, husband and sister; growing and sharing vegetables; handwork and quilting; crossword puzzles and reading; walking her dogs and gardening in her flower beds on College Ave. Her flowers were a treat to all who drove past them, blooming from Spring to Fall. Though feisty and a strong personality, Lois always had a smile and a kind “hello” to everyone! Lois was of the Christian faith.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alexander Grant Taylor; sisters Bertha Forsythe, Virginia “Teddi” Coburn, Joan Nash, June Grubb; brother Theodore O. “Ted” Deaumer, Jr.

She is survived by nieces and nephews: Howard Y. Forsythe, Libby D. (friend Rick) Hathaway, Dallas L. (Sandi) Nash, Jr., Mark (Kristie) Grubb and Lindsey (Bruce) Barilla; and long time friends W.R. and Donna Johnston of Pearisburg, VA.; Marlene Salyer and staff of East View Adult Care; Cathy, Gail and Melanie of Total Home Care & Hospice of Bluefield, VA; Dr. Thomas Brinegar and others who lovingly and kindly cared for Lois over the past 4 years of her life.

Following Lois' wishes she will be cremated and there will be no service.
