ATHENS — He was born June 20, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Timothy Daniel and Mary Bernice O'Sullivan. As a young man, he served in the Army before graduating from Mississippi State University. Kevin moved to Athens in 1966, where he began a lengthy career at Concord University that spanned four decades. In addition to his administrative roles, he served as the Mountain Lion golf coach and mentor for 10 years, combining his love for the game with his unique way of inspiring those he came in contact with. Kevin believed strongly in a life of service and dedicated his time and efforts to various organizations over the years, including Tender Mercies Food Pantry of Princeton, Catholic Charities of WV and other local and national charities. In recent years, he and his wife split their time between Athens and Sunset Beach, NC.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anne, of 51 years and six children: Timothy (Gillian) O'Sullivan of Freshwater, Australia, Karen (Joseph) Thornton of Culloden, WV, Brennon (Sherry) O'Sullivan of Tygart Lake, WV, Kristen Harrison of Athens, WV, Colin O'Sullivan of Reno, NV, Sean (Tiffany) O'Sullivan of Athens, WV; twelve grandchildren: Riley and Brady O'Sullivan, Jorden Thornton, Devin and Dylan O'Sullivan, Noah, Isaac and Kevin Harrison, Erin, Ireland, Michael and Conor O'Sullivan; as well as one sister, Peggy Kelly, and brothers Eddie (Jackie), Neil (Carol), Jerem (Ellen) and Brian O'Sullivan; and Hospice Compassus in Princeton and Visiting Angels Senior Care in Beckley.

In his final act of service, Kevin donated his body to scientific research for medical advancement.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Concord University Foundation - Five Aces Scholarship, P.O. Box 1405, Athens WV 24712, or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1310, Princeton, WV  24740.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 Harrison St., Princeton, WV on Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
