Frederick D. “Freddie” Schlager, age 51, formerly of Glen Fork, W.Va., passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the home of his mother. Born June 6, 1961 at Beckley, W.Va., he was the son of Janice M. Hughes Schlager of Peterstown, and the late Fred S. Schlager Jr.
Freddie had worked as a diesel mechanic for World Wide Equipment in Princeton and Rt. 100 Trucking at Dublin, Va.
In addition to his mother, survivors include four sisters, Deborah Lafferty and husband Delmar of Beckley, W.Va., Pamela Shrewsbury and husband Phillip of Peterstown, W.Va., Shirley Milam and husband James of Bluefield, W.Va., and his twin sister, Lisa Brown and husband Gerald “Jerry” of Cashmere, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, W.Va. with the Rev. James Milam officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterstown Cemetery, Giles County, Va. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of the services Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Bradley Lafferty, Matthew Trump, Phillip Shrewsbury II, Aaron Milam, Dylan Brown, Ryker Young and Jason Dowdy will serve as pallbearers.
