MIDDLESBORO, Ky. —
Margie Lafferty, 85, of Middlesboro, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Born August 30, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William and Dorothea Smith Tingle.
Margie loved to go camping, fishing and shopping. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margie was a 20-year member of the Midway Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Larkin Lafferty.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Julia Pitt of Middlesboro, Ky.; sons, Lawrence Lafferty and wife Anita of Havelock, N.C., Michael Lafferty and wife Pamela of Sparta, N.C., Steven Lafferty and wife Debbie of Bluefield, W.Va.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Louise Treadway of Beckley, W.Va. and Juanita Tingle of Crab Orchard, W.Va.; special friends, Elva Taylor of Midway, W.Va., Lucy Foley of Sophia, and Herb and Lorraina Milam of Midway, W.Va.; also a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Richard Walker and Pastor Jason Albertson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Lafferty Jr. Christopher Williams, Jeremy Lafferty, Shawn Martin, John Lafferty and Joey Lafferty.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday from 6–8 p.m. at the funeral home.
