BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Helen Minnie Belcher White, 95, of 137 Cottage Street, Bluefield, Va., died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at home. She was born in Kegley, W.Va. to the late William Burl and Minnie Duncan Belcher.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Wayfarers Sunday School Class, the Friendship Club, RSVP and Senior Friends. She was a former resident of Princeton, W.Va. and Tazewell, Va. She was a former employee of General Instrument, JC Penney and in later years of Clinch Valley Community Action in Tazewell.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Pansy Neal, Ruth Blankenship and Ruby Helms; four brothers, George, Carl, Roy and Clarence (Buster); her daughter, Claudette Robinson; her daughters-in-law, Marjean and June; son-in-law, James Robinson.
She is survived by four sons, Bobby White of Bradenton, Fla., John White of Bluefield, Va., Jack White of Virginia Beach, Jerry White and wife Nancy of Raleigh, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Judy Francis, Bob White Jr., Beth Jaworski, Bryan Robinson, Cindy Pearce, Jenny Lowe, Kim Clem, Kollette Henry, C.J. White Jr., Mark White and Susan Pullium; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Thorne of Ft. Washington, Md.; a host of nieces and nephews to whom she was very close and her caregivers, Jo Ann Massey, Debbie Bennett and the staff of Total Home Care and Hospice.
Funeral services for Mrs. White will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Bluefield, Va. Dr. Brad Scott, pastor of First United Methodist Church assisted by Dr. Don Scott will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Bill Elliot and vocals by Peggy Scott. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Yost, Harmon Sexton, Ervin Rich, Roscoe Matney and Bob Clendenen.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or Total Home Health and Hospice, 174 Kents Ridge Road, Richlands, Va.
