Edith Marie Fink
PRINCETON — Edith Marie Fink DeFriece, of Princeton, born March 3, 1927, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late George Washington Mathena and Debbie Zones Mathena.
Edith was a supervisor for the Maidenform Corporation in Princeton with 25 years of service. After leaving Maidenform, Edith along with her first husband Cletus owned and operated Fink’s Cafeteria on the Beckley Road for many years. Edith was very talented; she operated the Dream House Fabric & Interior Designs for several years. Not only will Edith be remembered for her sewing abilities, she was a fabulous cook and a grand hostess.
In addition to her parents, she as preceded in death by her first husband, Cletus Lindo Fink. Also preceding her in death were two sisters; Lavana Hutchinson and Elizabeth Easter along with six brothers; Willie, Garfield, George Jr., Fred, Robert and Jack Mathena.
Survivors include her husband James Raymond DeFriece of Princeton, her loving daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Hugh Campbell of Princeton along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Bill (Melanie) Dunn of Charlottesville Va.; Tammy (David) Morse and Raven of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; David (Andrea) Campbell, Grace, Sarah, Eli, and Erin of Princeton; Beth (Scott) Melton, Abi, Belle, and Caleb of Charleston; Matt Campbell and Melissa Mullen of Normal, Ill. Additional survivors are two sisters, Laura Ressor of Texas and Lou Mourning of New Jersey and brother, Daniel Ray Mathena (Sandra) of Princeton. Also surviving Mrs. DeFriece includes a special niece, Bonnie Halford; special sister-in-law Jerrie Hartman and brother-in-law Arlie Fink; two step-daughters, Vonda Parks of Marion, Va., Jane Pahjehshahi of Gaithersburg, Md., and special friend Dottie Blankenship of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Scott Hodge officiating. Prior to the services, friends may visit with the family from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
