Ted S. Poole, 84, of Princeton, died peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born March 8, 1929 in Princeton and was the son of the late Ervin C. and Dorothy E. Jones Poole.
Ted was a retired school bus driver with the Mercer County Board of Education and was a hard working man and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby M. Poole and brothers, Claude C. Poole, Cletus C. Poole and Ervin C. Poole Jr.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Dreama C. Delp Poole; his four children. Ted (Stanley) Poole Jr., Susan C. Basham, Leroy D. Poole all of Princeton, W.Va., and Leanna L. Grose and husband Billy (Chip) Grose II of Bluefield, W.Va.; one sister, Fanny (Faye) East and husband Randal of Glenwood, W.Va.; two brothers, Willard D. Poole and Harvey (Jack) Poole and wife Betty both of Glenwood, W.Va.; ten grandchildren, Luther C. Basham Jr., Eric K. Basham and wife Kim, Missy L. and Chad L. Basham, Billy (Bert) Grose III, Tabitha E. Pertee, Travis L. Grose, Jordon B. Poole, Jared K. Poole and Katelyn R. Poole; fourteen great-grandchildren, Alexus and Payton Basham, Ashley and Destiny Akers, Gavin A. Grose, Sierra and Riley Pertee, Hannah and Natalee Grose, Addison and McKinley Poole, Travin and Jazlyn Poole and Jason L. Thornton. Also a host of nieces and nephews.
The family has honored Ted's request that he be cremated and there will be no services.
The Poole family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
