KEGLEY — Alva Christine Thornton, 67, of Hidden Road, Kegley, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.

Born February 6, 1946, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Oble Lee Adkins and Louise Collins Adkins.

Christine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She attended the Grace Temple Church in Princeton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Adkins.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, William Eugene Thornton; three sons, Edward Eugene Thornton and wife Rhonda, William Joseph Thornton all of Kegley, Matthew Lee Thornton and wife Rosa of Glenwood; nine grandchildren, Reshinda Thornton, Santana Thornton, Summer Thornton, Josslynne Thornton, Caleb Thornton, Bently Thornton, Michaela Vaughan, Justin Vaughan and Julian Vaughan; siblings, Raymond Adkins, Farrell Adkins, Micky Adkins, Jeffery Adkins, Margie Adkins, Joyce Lee, Phyllis Lewis, Teresa Adkins and Tammy Adkins; a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Christine Thornton will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Connie Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton.

A time of sharing will be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
