Hazel Wyrick Harvey, 95, of Princeton, died Thursday morning, March 14, 2013 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Virginia with her children by her side.
Born May 5, 1917, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. Wyrick and Carrean Griffitts.
Mrs. Harvey was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church near Princeton. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandparent and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mason J. Harvey, along with brothers: Garfield S. Wyrick, William Homer Wyrick, and Raymond Wyrick and a sister, Alva Archer Dillman.
Survivors include her three children: Nancy Rule and husband Max of Wise, Va., Donald R. Harvey and wife Peggy of Newport News, Va. and Douglas M. Harvey of Milboro, Va.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter “Corky” Wyrick of Princeton; two sisters, Joyce Dickerson and Delores Waddell both of Princeton; eight nieces and four nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
