TAZEWELL, Va. —
He was born October 31, 1950 at Bluefield, WV and was a son of the late William Virgil and Margaret Madeline Wilson Hoback. Larry graduated from Tazewell High School in 1970 and is a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an excellent welder and had worked for many years with Poskas Enterprises in North Tazewell, VA. Larry loved spending time with his grandchildren and family; he also enjoyed golfing and gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Rodney Hoback; his son-in-law, Kevin Wess.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Linda Lambert Hoback; three daughters, Melanie Hoback and companion, Robert “Blue” Dennis, and Angie Hoback Wess, all of Tazewell, VA and Jessica Alley and husband, Curtis of Fairlawn, VA; two sisters, Carol Sue Hoback Collins of Goodview, VA and Bea Hellas and husband, Donald of North Tazewell, VA; one brother, Bill Hoback and wife, Carolyn of Cleveland, TN; seven grandchildren, Thaddeus Hoback, Rachel Dennis, Tyler Crouse, Adrienne Crouse, Samantha Wess, Grayson Alley and Saera Alley; many nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted for Raymond Larry Hoback at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Hurst – Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Brother Chris White officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by members of the Barns-Beavers VFW Post #7136 in Tazewell, VA.
In honoring Mr. Hoback’s wishes, his body will be cremated.
