PRINCETON — PRINCETON — Ronald Allen “J.R.” Hicks Jr., 48, of 180 Columbus Lane in Princeton, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 17, 1965 in West Islip Long Island, N.Y. he was the son of Ronald Allen Hicks Sr. and Janice Marie Lilly Hicks of Princeton. J. R. was a U.S. Army veteran serving two years active duty then entered the Army National Guard to complete his military service. He was a former tractor trailer driver for Cooke's Trucking in Mt. Airy, NC and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Welch Hicks of Princeton; two sons, Jonathan Hicks of Beckley and Tyler Shannon Hicks of the home; one daughter, Jessica Marie Crotty of Beckley; one grandson, Isaac; one sister, Rhonda Lilly and husband, Billy Joe of Princeton; one brother, Darren Steven Hicks of Princeton; nieces and nephews, Heath Lilly and wife, Stephanie and their son, Jude, Leslie Lilly, and Lauren Yvonne Hicks.

In keeping with J.R.'s wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Greg Kinzer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 260 Windy Hill Dr., Princeton, WV 24739.
