Burgess Daryel Hess

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Burgess and Agnes Mae Boyd Hess. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlene Hess; three brothers, Paul Hess, Jack Hess, and Jerry Hess; and one brother-in-law, Bobby J. Horton.

He is survived by: One Daughter: Tilda Ball and husband, Ikey of Raven, Virginia; Five Sisters: Anna Ruth Richardson and husband, Robert of Swords Creek, Virginia, Billie Jean Horton of Claypool Hill, Virginia, Alice Faye Richardson and husband, Olbert of Richlands, Virginia, Peggy Rose and husband, Donald of Raven, Virginia, Janice Jessie and husband, Roger of Pilot, Virginia; One Brother: Benton Hess and wife, Joann of Abingdon, Virginia; Two Grandchildren, Zachary Ball and Casey Ball; Special Caregiver, Betty Reynolds; Several nieces and nephews also survive along with a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Burgess Daryel Hess will be conducted Friday, January 10, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will be at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery, Richlands, Virginia on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
