Donnie Ray “ Conway” Harry

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil”

PRINCETON — Donnie Ray “ Conway” Harry, 66, of the Eads Mill Road, Princeton, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Born on July 4, 1947, he was the son of Iris Smith Harry of Oakvale and the late Roy Alex Harry.

He was a retired conductor with the N & S Railroad, was well known for his love for automobiles, he was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Oakvale and he proudly served his country with the U.S. Army.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Ray Harry and Benny Lee Harry.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his loving and devoted wife, Sheila Hypes Harry. Two stepchildren, Heather Wilson of Princeton and Angela Long and her husband Jamie of Cherokee, N.C. Four step grandchildren, Kayla Wilson, Cody Long, Sadie Long and Teresa Long. One step great-grandchild, Mayleigh Long. One sister, Patricia Caldwell and husband Butch of Princeton. Mother-in-law, Mary Jane Lambert. Nieces, Janet Harry Dobbins of Evant, Texas and Kim Caldwell of Princeton. Great-nephew, Dustin Warner.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Terry Lambert officiating. Music will be provided by Eddie and Mary Day. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where the WV National Guard Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council will conduct full military honors. Ernie Hollins, Shawn Emerson, Alan Garten, Terry Lambert, Rusty Cole and Harry Mann will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
