Mr. Danny Ray Price

HONAKER, Va.. — Mr. Danny Ray Price, age 64, of the Finney section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (November 18, 2012) at his home. Born June 20, 1948 in Finney, Virginia, he was a son of the late Taze Leonard and Hattie Marie Ray Price.

He was a 1966 graduate of Honaker High School and a 1971 graduate of University of Virginia with a Bachelors’ of Science in Civil Engineering. He was President and co-owner of D.R. Price Engineering and Land Surveying Inc., PE since 1985. He was a member of Swords Creek Community Baptist Church for twenty-eight years, where he had served as a Deacon for many years. He was a friend to everyone he met, especially those in need and had served with many organizations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Kitty Poskas.

Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Patty Price of the home; one daughter, Marsha Price of Honaker; sons, Mark Price and Keith Alexander of Pittsboro, North Carolina; special companion pet, Bitsy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Eugene and Frances Miller, Mickey and Coetta Hoge; special friends and business partners, Richard Bostic, Allen Mitchell, Stephen Maxfield, and John Sutherland; very good friend, Larry Stinson; lifelong friend and college buddy, Gary Lee. Many friends and co-workers also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Bro. Les Ritchie, Bro. Chris Musick and Bro. Jacob Musick officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Davis, Earl Miller, Brian Whited, Berk Artrip, Jay Howard, Larry Stinson, James Carter, Jimmy Musick, Wayne Robinette, Thomas Harris, and Harvey Gent.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of D.R. Price Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc., PE.

Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
