BLUEFIELD — Gary Otis Shrader, 62, of Bluefield, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at his home. Born November 29, 1950 at Bluefield, he was the son of the late Robert Henry Shrader and Letha Melvin Shrader.

Mr. Shrader was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany and Vietnam. He received his degree in Engineering from Bluefield State College. He was a former coal miner and a former employer of Pemco in Bluefield, VA, ATT in Radford, VA, and Corning in Blacksburg, VA. He was a member of the Church of God on Airport Road. He was a farmer and a devoted and caring father.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Wayne Shrader.

Survivors include one daughter, Michele Harman and her husband David of Princeton; three sons, Derek Shrader of Princeton, Justin Shrader of Bluefield and Michael Shrader of Princeton; Debbie, the mother of his three sons; one sister, Janet Bratton and her husband Kenneth of Radford, VA; one brother, Roger Shrader of Fountain Inn, SC; and four grandchildren, A.J. Harman, Emily Harman, Jacob Harman and Leksi Shrader.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Dana Hambrick and the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
