PATTERSON, Va. —
Willard Dors Hale, 68, of Patterson, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Va. after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born January 23, 1945 in Rowe, Va., he was the son of the late Tolbert Hale and Letha Lester Hale. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and was the Founder of Faith Chapel Holiness Church of Patterson, Va. was a carpenter for 48 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
In addition to his parents, Tolbert Hale and Letha Lester Hale, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Jerry Hale, one sister, Polly Neal.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Juanita Ball Hale of Patterson, Va.; daughters, Patricia Vance of Charlottesville, Va., Brenda Hale of Vansant, Va.; son, Ray Hale and wife Stephanie of Pilgrims Knob, Va.; sisters, Marie Hensley and Phyllis Hale both of Hampton, Tenn.; brothers, Dallas Hale and wife Dorothy of Clintwood, Va., Leonard Hale and wife Eva Mae of Drill, Va.
Willard is also survived by his grandchildren whom he adored, Austin Hale of Patterson, Va., Courtney Hale and Ethan Hale, both of Pilgrims Knob, Va., Celena Hale Meadows of Vansant, Va.
Funeral services for Willard Dors Hale will be conducted at the Shortrige-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, Va., Monday, July 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverends Clell Daniels, Randy Webb and Mickey Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Va. Active pallbearers will be Howard Cook, Travis Nickles, Brian Osborne, Woodrow Bowman, Ronnie Yates, Chris Hale, Anthony Hale and Mickey Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be the men from K & K construction.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, June 30, 2013 after 6:00 with evening services to be held at 7:00.
