Raymond N. Rose, 86, of South Avenue, Princeton, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Mary Ellen's Elder Care, Bailey Hollow Road, Princeton.
Born in Elkhorn, W.Va. on October 14, 1926, he was the son of the late William Floyd and Laura Combs Rose. He was the owner and operator of the Mercer Bus Lines for 20 years and retired from the WV Department of Highways as a welder.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Virginia Ruth Rose, 14 brothers and sisters and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors include two sons, Terry L. Rose and wife Rhonda of Princeton, W.Va. and Raymond Bruce Rose and wife Judy of Bluefield, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Michael Rose and wife Jessica of Rock, W.Va., Kristy Lynn Rose of Bluefield, Va. and Dr. Terra Rose of Raleigh, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Tanner Rose and Hunter Honaker and his best friends his two dogs.
The family has honored Raymond's request that his body be cremated.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Raymond Nelson Rose will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor C.T. Lilly officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
