Don Eyul Arnold

BLUEFIELD — Don Eyul Arnold, 83, of Bluefield, Va., passed into the loving arms of his Lord, early Tuesday morning, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 24, 1928, in Bluefield, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clifford Hoy and Edith Aliff Arnold. As a young man, he proudly worked with his father at Arnold's Garage for 14 years. He retired from Coppinger's Machinery Service after 30 years, and is fondly remembered as the owner of Peppe's Pizza. He attended Parkview Baptist Church.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Lavon Lowder Arnold; daughters, Jennifer Arnold Hancock and husband, Vern, and Dawn Arnold Peters and husband, Jack; two grandsons, Joshua Hancock and Adam Hancock; four sisters, Yvonne Perry and husband, Marshall, Karen Arnold, Sharen Helms, and Cindy Blevins and husband, Arthur; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford Arnold Jr., Wayne Arnold, and Phillip Arnold; one sister, Rita Shelley; and two brothers-in-law, Willie Shelley and George Helms.

The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Thursday evening, April 19, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Alan Pearce officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
