PRINCETON — PRINCETON — Brian Lynn Wilcox, 62, of Princeton was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013 from his easy chair at his home after a prolonged complicated illness of five years.

Born October 17, 1950, in Beckley, he was the son of Jacqueline L. Wilcox of Allen Junction and the late, Stanley Jack Wilcox.

He enjoyed playing the rhythm guitar in a teenage high school band named the Rondeaus. He was a 1968 graduate of Mullens High School and a 1969 graduate of Center College Computer School in Charleston.  He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Scott of Itmann 44 years ago.

He was a former employee of G.C. Murphy in Mullens and Consol Coal Company # 1 mine as a motorman at Itmann. He was a tractor trailer driver who had driven more than 3 million miles in his career of 15 years. He had driven for M.S. Carrier of Memphis TN, Cargo Transporter of Claremont NC & LEI Trucking of Danville VA.  Brian had served as a security guard for Neal Security in Bluewell.  He was an avid Ham Radio operator and began a Radio Repeater Station to serve Mercer County on 443.700.

Brian loved photography and was a professional wedding photographer over 40 years. He was a dedicated Christian; he had a loving heart and was always willing to help others in need. He loved to sing and play guitar in church and had attended many churches in the area. Most recently attending the Voice of Calvary Baptist Church in City View Heights. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, friends and all his brothers and sisters in Christ. Brian enjoyed driving, song writing, piano and guitar playing.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Helen Scott Wilcox; two sons, Gregory Brian Wilcox & wife, Janice of Taylorsville N.C., John Dewayne Wilcox & wife, Christie of Princeton; four grandchildren, Angela Grace, Kaylynn Faith, Heather Rose and David Gregory Wilcox; his mother, Jacqueline Wilcox of Allen Junction; brothers, Michael Wilcox & wife, Brenda of Allen Junction, Gary Wilcox & wife, Teresa of Summersville; sister, Melissa Crookshanks & husband, Jimmy of Beckley; two nieces, Stepfanie Williams & husband, Justin of Sophia and Lindsey Crookshanks of Morgantown; two nephews, Jeremy Crookshank & wife, Brittney of Pittsburg, Pa. and Nathen Wilcox of Concord College; aunt, Jeanette Greer of Helen and Uncle Bob Stefancic of Colorado.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor's Dr. Michael Williams, Roy Williams and Sheilah speaking. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
