Doris Ann Thompson

PRINCETON — PRINCETON — Doris Ann Thompson, 71, of Goodwin Chapel Road, Princeton died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at her residence.Born October 13, 1942 at Pounding Mill, VA. she was the daughter of the late, Clinton Edward and Frances Katherine Lawson Witt.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who was a homemaker, enjoyed her flowers and working in her garden.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ivy Jane Witt.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Larry Gene Thompson of the home; three children, Steve Edward Thompson of Princeton, Larry Adam Thompson and Jennifer Lynn Thompson both of Louisa Va; siblings, Charlotte Roten and her husband, Paul of Abbs Valley, Va., Darless Akers and her husband, Jackie, Ron Witt and his wife, Linda and Mary Johnston and her husband, Jerry, all of Princeton, Patricia Pendleton of Kellysville and Melissa Price and her husband, Darrell of Falls Mills, Va.; five grandchildren, Dale, Eliza, Larry, Nathan and Hannah; a host of nieces and nephews.

We will celebrate the life of Doris Ann Thompson on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Roger Hatfield  officiating. Burial will follow in the New Zion Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, February 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
