Brenda Gay Sliger Baker

RAYSAL — RAYSAL — Brenda Gay Sliger Baker, 56 years of age, of Raysal, W.Va., passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at her home. Born December 3, 1957 in McDowell County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late, Howard and Flecie Willis Sliger.

Brenda was a 1977 graduate of Iaeger High School, a former employee of Buchanan General Hospital for thirty-four years, faithfully attended the Old Country Church in Raysal, WV and had served God for thirty-four years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading, walking and was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Baker; and an infant brother, Carl Wayne Sliger.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 36 years, Johnny Farrell Baker of Raysal, W.Va.; daughter, Karalla (Keith Lee) Reynolds of Princeton, W.Va.; son, Tony (Heather) Baker of Raysal, W.Va.; sisters, Linda (Robert) McGuire of Tazewell, Va., Sandra (Joe) Grizzel of Athens, W.Va., Patty (Bobby) Baker of Bluewell, W.Va. and Christine (Junior) Kendrick of Raysal, W.Va.

She is also survived by her son-at-heart, Nick Chambers of Bradshaw, W.Va.; sister-at-heart, Kathy Grizzel Mills and husband, Dennis of Fredricksburg, Va.; brother-in-law, Ernie Baker; and niece, Angel of Raysal, W.Va.; grandchildren, Lindsey Waldron of Bristol, Emily and Kaylee Reynolds or Princeton, W.Va., Aidan and Gunner Baker of Raysal, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Brenda Gay Sliger Baker will be conducted at the Old Country Church of Raysal, W.Va. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Brothers, Martin West and Ronnie Sliger officiating. Burial will follow in the Deskins Cemetery on Atwell Mountain, Raysal, W.Va.

Active pallbearers will be her family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Old Country Church Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m.
