Bluefield Daily Telegraph
Surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 7, 2014 our precious Patricia (Patti) Reid, 64, of Bluefield, WV departed her earthly life at Princeton Community Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bluefield, WV she was the daughter of the late Charles Daniel Smith and Katherine Genevieve Hale Smith.
She was employed by Industrial Plating and Machine for many years serving as the Contract Review Coordinator and a member of the Management Team. Patti was a member of the Boissevain Methodist Church and most recently attended Maple View Church of Christ.
Patti was a momma, a nanna, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin, and a loyal friend. She was honest, hard working, endearing and dedicated to her family and friends. Her eyes sparkled, her laughter was infectious and her smile was contagious. Gardening was a lifelong hobby she shared with her father. She was well known in the gardening community through her work at Meadowview Lane Green House. Most of all she loved and was loved and will be missed beyond measure.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Art Powers and Thomas Reid and in-laws Garnet and Ruth Reid.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Kelly Michael Reid and wife Jennifer of Bluefield, VA and Joshua Patrick Reid of Bluefield, VA; her love and companion Michael Cocus; one brother, Charles Russell Smith and wife Janet of Bluefield, VA; two sisters, Geri Powers of Bluefield, VA and Fran Boone and husband Clarence of Bluefield, VA; two grandsons, Keilan Grant Reid and Patrick Lambert; special nieces Cindy Moore and Kathi Mustard and numerous other nieces and nephews.
