RICHLANDS, Va. —
Steven “Stevie” Reese Richards, age 40, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at a Bristol, Tennessee hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 1, 1973 in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of Beatrice Mosley Richards of Richlands, Virginia and the late Luther Richards. Stevie was a class of 1994 graduate of Richlands High School. He was a member of the Richlands Tabernacle for 39 years. He loved his family and his church family. He also enjoyed going fishing. He was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area. Stevie will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by: Three sisters: Brenda “Peanut” Richards of the home, Susan Richards of the home, Linda Puckett and husband, Ronnie of Cedar Bluff, Virginia. One niece, Amanda Mowrer of Richlands, Virginia. One nephew, R.J. Puckett of Richlands, Virginia. Two great-nieces, Abby Puckett and Khloe Puckett. A host of family and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Steven “Stevie” Reese Richards will be conducted Monday, January 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Richlands Tabernacle in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Phillip Horton and the Rev. Bob Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia with the Rev. Tim Lester officiating. Pallbearers will be: Johnny Carver, Johnny Horton, Ricky Cline, Adam Cordle, Andrew Cordle, Bobby McGraw, Brian McGraw, Nick Keene and Randy Deel. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bible class of the Richlands Tabernacle.
The Richards family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Sunday evening at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, 1401 Second Street, Richlands, Virginia.
