CEDAR BLUFF, Va. —
Nora Mila Bandy Sparks, age 84, of the Baptist Valley section of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia.
She was born in Bandy, Virginia and was the daughter of the late John M. and Maggie Creed Bandy. Nora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of the area. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, by her stepfather, Vince Bandy, three sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by: Her husband, Boyd Sparks; one daughter: Bonnie Sparks Cook and husband, Paul (Slick) of Richlands, Virginia; one sister: Fern Brown of Claypool Hill, Virginia; one granddaughter: Ami Stiltner Mullins and husband, Scott of Abingdon, Virginia; three great-grandchildren: Emma, Christopher Scott II, Isabella. A host of family and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Nora Mila Bandy Sparks will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Mike Altizer and Larry Hargett officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Mike Owens, Corion Cornette, Brad Scott, Pete Brewster, Barry Muzzleman, Lowell Brewster, Randall Brown, Larry Hargett, and Brent Beavers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Bently, Scott Mullins and Harold Creed.
The Sparks family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, 1401 Second Street, Richlands, Virginia.
