CEDAR BLUFF, Va. —
She was born January 6, 1917 at Tazewell County, VA and was a daughter of the late Jim and Florence Belle Whitt Sparks.
She had worked for many years at the former General Instrument in Tazewell, VA and was a lady who enjoyed working in her vegetable gardens, canning, reading and working crossword puzzles. She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith and attended the Salem Primitive Baptist Church all of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Dickens Sayers, Elsie Sparks, and Orlena Raines; two brothers, Avery Sparks and Herman Sparks.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Those left to cherish her memories include her nephew and caregiver, Jimmy Dickens and wife, Michele of Cedar Bluff, VA and their children, Crystal, Angel, Trisha, Sarah and Thomas; several special nephews, nieces, other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Arrie Norine Sparks will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Elders George Ben Combs and Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. Miss Spark’s nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
