Harold Boyd Wolfe Sr., 88, of PO Box 797 (Premier Mtn.), Welch, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at Welch Community Hospital.
Born on June 30, 1924 in McComas, he was a son of the late Lonnie Hobart and Lottie Bryant Wolfe. He had been a resident of Welch since 1945 and was a graduate of McComas High School. He was the former owner of Wolfe Trucking Company and the Beauty Rest Motel. He was also a former private investigator and retired chief field deputy. He had also owned the Lincoln Mercury dealer in Welch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Belcher Wolfe; a son, Roger “Chip” Wolfe; and a grandson, Brandon Wolfe.
Survivors include sons, John Wolfe and wife Karen of Bluefield, Lonnie Wolfe and Kimberly of Princeton, and Harold B. “Butch” Wolfe Jr. of Athens; daughter, Dolly Comer and husband Chuck of Bluefield, Va.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and special friend and companion, Loraine Antonacci of Welch.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Doug Abel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
