Margaret Elizabeth Cordle, 88, of Princeton, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Born April 16, 1924 at Crumpler, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Slator Bell and Kizze May Billings Bell.
Mrs. Cordle was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading and loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Marvin James Cordle on March 14, 2012; an infant son, Roger Dale Cordle; a granddaughter, Diana “Sunshine;” five brothers, Garfield Bell, Andrew Bell, James R. Bell, John Bell and Robert Bell; and one sister, Flossie Blankenship.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Cordle of Princeton and Andy Cordle and his wife Deborah of Princeton; two daughters, Marvis “Cookie” Thornton of Hopewell, Va. and Tammy Tiller of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Michael Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Tiller, Jeremy Thompson, Randall Dickerson, Richard Croy, Glen Croy, Marvin Thornton and Wayne Thornton.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
