Sylvia Kinzer Lusk, 88, formerly of Beeson, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Princeton Health Care Center. Born October 4, 1925 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Emma McBride Kinzer.
Mrs. Lusk enjoyed canning and quilting and also loved her garden. She attended church when her health permitted. She was a member of the Old State Road Freewill Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Avery Lusk; four brothers, Ora Kinzer, Athel Kinzer, Basil Kinzer and Fred Kinzer and four sisters, Bessie Prince, Ilene Mann, Myrtle Polke and Elvia Hubbard.
Left to cherish her memory are four sons, Roger Lusk and wife Deborah of Rock, Roney Lusk and wife Carol of Beeson, Robert Lusk and wife Irene of Beeson and Manuel Lusk and wife Virginia of Beeson; two daughters, Judy Akers and husband Woodie of Beeson and Joyce Shrewsbury and husband Junior of Princeton; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her extended family at Princeton Health Care Center and Hospice Compassus.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Brother Arnie McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at the Bowling Cemetery in Spanishburg. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
