FAIRWAY, Kan. —
B.C. "Bud" Snidow, 95, of Fairway, Kansas, passed away January 26, 2013 at Kansas City Hospice House from a brain tumor.
Bud served as Assistant Secretary of the American Hereford Association from 1961 to 1983 and retired in 1983 after 32 years of distinguished service. While working for the Association he traveled worldwide and had many friends all over the world. A native of Princeton, West Virginia, he joined the Association staff in 1951 as a fieldman for the eastern states.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia with a degree in Animal Husbandry. After graduation, he went to work for the Eastern Breeder magazine in June 1940 as Livestock Editor in Warrenton, Virginia.
Bud served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 in Fairbanks, Alaska. He came to Kansas City in 1955 to join the staff of the American Hereford Association, and this is when he began work with the American Royal. He served as a Goodwill Ambassador and was an Honorary Governor and was also a volunteer.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda in March 2009.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia Knowles of De Land, Florida.
Bud was an accomplished artist of Hereford paintings and other various subject matter.
Burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
