PRINCETON — Mary Ferrante, 91, of Glenwood Park Retirement Village and formerly of Bluewell, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Born November 2, 1921 in Modugno, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Porzia Ferrante of Modugno. Her family immigrated to America in 1938 where she later worked alongside her brother, Frankie, at Frankie's La Salute Club in Bluewell.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bluefield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Andrew, Frank and Nick Ferrante.

Survivors include her sister, Lena Mariotti, of Glenwood Park Retirement Village; nieces, Porcilla Saunders (Charles) of Richmond, Va.; Loretta Hammond (Don) of Bluefield, Va.; Anna Marie Allen (Seymour) of Charlottesville, Va. Nephew, Carl Mariotti Jr. (Linda) of Bluefield, W.Va. Great-nieces and nephews: Lisa Passarella, Jennifer and Caroline Allen of Charlottesville, Va.; Amy Hammond and Mark Mariotti of Radford, Va.; Laura Hammond of Christiansburg, Va.; Clay Hurst of Morgantown, W.Va.; Scott Saunders of Richmond, Va.; Caria English of Bluefield, W.Va. Sixteen great-great-nieces and nephews also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 30 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wyoming Street, Bluefield with Celebrant Father Paul Wharton. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.  

Family will receive friends at Sacred Heart Church from 10 a.m. til 11 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
