Larry Wayne Lambert

BLUEFIELD — Larry Wayne Lambert, 70, of Central Drive, Bluefield, W.Va., died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born in Bluefield December 1, 1942, he was a son of the late Henry R. Lambert and Lila Ruth Dakin Lambert. He attended Grace United Methodist Church and had been co-owner of Lambert's Auto and Wrecker Service, working in the family business all of his life. Larry was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam era, and was a member of both the Bluefield Moose Club and Bluefield Elks Lodge.

Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gail Melcher Lambert; a daughter, Donna Lambert Monahan and her husband Michael of Morgantown, W.Va.; two sons: Donald Wayne Lambert and his wife Melissa of Bluefield, W.Va. and Kevin Scott Lambert and his wife Susan of Bluefield, W.Va.; a sister, Aleta Horoczski of Broadway, Va. and a brother, Henry R. “Randy” Lambert Jr. and his wife Diane of Bluefield, W.Va. Also surviving are six granddaughters, Nicole Lambert of Florida, Megan Monahan Ursic and her husband Mike of Philadelphia, Pa., Leslie Ann Lambert of Bluefield, W.Va., Ashley Monahan Cooper and her husband Clint of Boston, Mass., Stephanie Ann Lambert of Bluefield, W.Va., Leah Brooke Lambert of Bluefield, W.Va., and a great-grandson, Garren Leon Walker of Bluefield, W.Va.

The family received friends Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Mercer Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted today (Sunday), July 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert K. Boozer officiating. In keeping with Larry's request, his body will be cremated following services.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Amedysis Hospice of Bluefield, c/o 3879 Maple Acres Road, Bluefield, WV 24701.
