Evangelist Lillian R. Shelton Brogdon

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Lillian was born October 15, 1946 in Elbert and the only daughter of the late Gregg Shelton Sr., and Elizabeth Tinsen Shelton.  She was a graduate of Gary District High School.  She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Harman Branch Church of God in Thorpe, WV where she served as an Evangelist.  Before moving to Winston-Salem approximately five years ago, she was employed at Welch Elementary School as a teacher’s aide.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Elbert.

Lillian will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, of 48 years, Overseer Benjamin P. Brogdon, Jr., and their six children:  Benjamin P. (Ronaldo) Brogdon III., Gregory (April)  Brogdon, Bonita Reese, Minister Angela Brown, Phyllis Brogdon and Minister Kimberly (Lonnie) Brown all of Winston-Salem; 11 grandchildren:  Randy, Benjamin W., Tiffany, Benjamin IV., Jeffery, Steven, Justin, Darrell, Riley, Zanah and Tashune; three great-grandchildren:  Kaiden, Elijah and Nevaeh; three brothers:  Walter (Ethel) Shelton of Columbus, OH; Gregg (Patricia) Shelton Jr.,  of Long Island, NY and William Shelton of Welch, WV; mother-in-law, Nannie Brogdon of Thorpe, WV; a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws; many nephews,  nieces and cousins..

A Homegoing Service celebrating the life of Evangelist Brogdon will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God in Kimball, WV with (her husband) the Overseer Benjamin P. Brogdon Jr., officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest lawn Memorial Gardens on Rt. 20, Littlesburg Road in Bluewell, WV.

Her family will serve as both pall bearers and flower bearers.            

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until time of Service on Saturday at the Church.

 Service entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, WV.
