NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. —
Lauretta Mae Marshall, age 75, of North Tazewell, Virginia, went to be with her Lord at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee, on May 3, 2014.
She was born January 7, 1939, in Caretta, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Sherlie and Blanche (Crouse) Marshall.
In 1956 she graduated from Big Creek High School, War, West Virginia. For many years she lived in Maryland and worked for Potomac Electric Power Company in Washington, D.C., for almost thirty-eight years, retiring as a supervisor. She had attended the Tazewell, Virginia, Wesleyan Methodist Church. Lauretta was known for her loving and giving ways and will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Lauretta, was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Wesley Marshall, two nephews, Jay Harrison and Sgt. James Altizer, and one sister-in-law, Francis Marshall.
She is survived by two brothers, Robert Marshall of Port Crane, NY, and Rev. Michael Marshall (wife, Wanda) of Greenville, PA; two sisters, Shirley Harrison (husband, James) of Albuquerque, NM, and Brenda Graham (husband, James) of North Tazewell, VA. Lauretta was a faithful and caring aunt to four nephews, seven great nieces, six great nephews, two great-great nephews, and two great-great nieces.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, VA, with her brother, the Rev. Michael Marshall, and the Rev. William Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service. Burial will be at Cox Cemetery, Dugspur, VA.
