PRINCETON — Rebecca “Becky” Ann Echols, 71, of Windy Hill Drive, Princeton, died suddenly late Thursday evening, April 18, 2013 at her residence.

Born in Camp Creek on January 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ira Beirne and Mildred McGinnis Ellison.

Becky retired from the Mercer County School System in 2001 as a teacher having taught at various schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dale Echols and one sister, Bernice Hammon.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Belle Compton of Florida; aunt, Iris McGinnis of Princeton and her son Mike and his wife Janet of Maryland.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Lilly Cemetery at Flat Top. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
