WYTHEVILLE, Va. — Bonnie Arlene Davidson Williams, age 66 of Wytheville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Wytheville Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born April 22, 1946, in Austinville, Va., she was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence W. Davidson of Austinville, and Ellen England Davidson of Wytheville. Bonnie was a 1964 graduate of Fort Chiswell High School. She wed John Caddell Williams Jr. in 1965, and lived nearly half her life in McDowell County, West Virginia, before returning home to Wythe County after their retirement. She was a homemaker all of her life, and took great pride in her family. She especially enjoyed doting on her 7 grandchildren, with each one having a very special place in her heart.
Bonnie possessed a great zest for life. She loved family get-togethers, cookouts, shopping, flea markets, old family photographs, chocolate, and traveling. She had a lifelong love for the country of Germany. Her great personal charisma and graciousness earned her many devoted friends. She loved to laugh, and took great joy in reminiscing about humorous family stories. She was a sweet and lovely light to all who knew her.
She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John Caddell Williams Jr. of the home; four sons: John Caddell Williams III and wife Patricia of Piney Flats, Tenn., Samuel Shane Williams and wife Gerry of Portland, Tenn., Joel Lee Williams and wife Janie of Rock, W.Va., and Stacy Todd Williams and wife Tracy of White House, Tenn. Seven grandchildren: Alisa Williams of Chattanooga, Tenn., Savannah and Chelsea Williams of Bristol, Tenn., Audrey Williams of Rock, W.Va., Hannah and Andrew Williams of White House, Tenn., and Shiloh Williams of Piney Flats, Tenn.; a sister: Janie Davidson Graham and husband Perry of Wytheville, Va.; and a brother: Terry W. Davidson and wife Barbara of Gloucester Point, Va. Also several beloved nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Pastor Danny Shortridge officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
