GARY — Hazel V. Jones, 87, of Gary, W.Va. went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2012 following a short illness at Hubbard Hospice House. She was born in Grassy Creek, N.C., the first of seven children to the late Vince T. and Rose Wolfe.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Charles E. Jones; sisters, Ola Mae Wolfe and Josephine Divens.
Surviving are her two children, daughter, V. Lyvonne (the Rev. Ronald) Dyer; son, Charles E. (Minnie) Jones Jr.; siblings, Ophelia Pannell, Gwen Latham, Vince T. Wolfe Jr., and Beverly Wolfe; grandchildren, Ronald (Lia) O. Dyer Jr., Kerry C. (Kaci) Jones, and Tracy E. Jones; four great-grandchildren; and a host of loving cousins.
Mrs. Jones was extremely devoted to her family and loved to be around them. Her sister and best friend Ophelia lived with her and helped care for her. Mrs. Jones was an inspiration to everyone who came in contact with her.
Funeral service will begin at 12 noon, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Wilcoe, W.Va. with Elder Robert P. Gentry officiating assisted by Pastor David Cooper and Pastor Matthew J. Watts. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, route 20, Bluewell, W.Va.
