Patricia Lynn Billings Hudgins

BLAND, Va. — Patricia Lynn Billings Hudgins, age 50, of 5348 Wesendonck Road, Bland, Va., formerly of Maybeury, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at her home after battling a short illness of cancer.

Born on November 4, 1961 in Welch, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Gertrude Jarrells Billings. She had been a resident of McDowell County for most of her life but had recently moved to Bland, Va. She was a homemaker but enjoyed spending time and taking care of the elderly.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Hudgins; six brothers, Delbert, Ronnie, Doug, David, Otis, and Arnold Billings.

Survivors include: One son: Anthony “Tony” Billings and wife Keri Waldron Billings of Lashmeet; four grandchildren: Destini and Dakota Billings of Maybeury, Hartley and Seyona Billings of Lashmeet; four sisters: Agnes and husband Roy McFarland of Ohio, Violet and husband Carl Powell of Princeton, Shirley Carter of Lake City, Fla. Tammy and husband Kenny Hudgins of Montcalm; very special sister: Heather LaRue of Bland, Va.; very special friend: Lisa Tessa of Maybeury; very special sister in law: Myrtle Clower of Bland, Va.; nieces: Candida Clower of Woodford, Va., Heather LaRue of Bland, Va., Harley Dickerson of Montcalm; great-nieces: Hailei Mastin of Woodford, Va., Lymebrietta Willis and Raven Larue of Bluefield, Alexis Clower and Makayla Hale of Montcalm; nephew: Anthony “Adam” Clower of Montcalm; great-nephews: Christopher Clower and Shaun Jackson of Montcalm, Shelton Clower of Woodford, Va., Walter Willis of Bluefield; great-great nephews: Dustin Jackson and Nathern “Nate” Dickerson of Montcalm, Eean Willis of Bluefield; many other nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver: Ann Dalton of Bland, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Darryl Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Sherman Wright, Scott Allison, Paul Surrat, Charlie Smithers, Adam Clower, and Christopher Clower will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
