TAZEWELL, Va. —
William Joseph Yeatts “Bill” Horton, age 58, of Tazewell, Va., died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Va. Born November 15, 1954 at Radford, Va., he was a son of the late Reverend Henry N. and Eileen Yeatts Horton.
He was a 1973 graduate of Tazewell High School where he was a member of the THS Marching Band and the Green T's. Bill was a talented musician both instrumentally and vocally. Over the years, he shared his talents in several local contemporary and classic rock bands. He worked for a time in the radio business on air and in sales. Bill was also a licensed electrician and draftsman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Guinn.
He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Johnson and husband, Eric of Bristol, Va.; two sons, Dr. Will Horton and wife, Dr. Megan Horton of Forest, Va. and John Horton of Cedar Bluff, Va.; three grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Brenden Johnson; and Rees Horton; four sisters, Ruth Johnson and husband, Ralph of Collinsville, Va., Kathy Price of Mountain Home, N.C., Susan Spencer and husband, Jack of Charlotte, N.C., and Lisa Brown of Weaverville, N.C.; one brother, Roy Horton and wife, Carolyn of Knoxville, Tenn.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. where a memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. Thomas A. Conley officiating.
