THOMASVILLE, N.C. —
THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Lillie Eva Fitzko, of Thomasville, N.C. and formerly of Walnut Street, Princeton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 2:54 p.m. at her and her daughter’s home in Thomasville, N.C. at the age of 92.
She was born on December 27, 1920 in Coaldale and was a daughter of the late, Rassie and Florence Walker Davidson. Lillie was one of the “Rosie the Riveter’s” in the early 40’s doing what she could while the men went to war. She was born and grew up on Coaldale Mountain in Coaldale, W.Va., walking those mountains and being a country girl. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Chapel in Princeton, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fitzko.
Her children are as follows: son, Thomas and wife, Carol Tabor of Cape Coral, Fa.; daughter, Sandy and husband, Sammy Vestal of Greensboro, N.C.; son, Terry and wife, Ruby Fitzko of Princeton, W.Va.; daughter, Kay and husband Leroy Lilly of Chester, Va.; daughter, Linda and husband Billy Douglas of Hilton Head, S.C.; and daughter, Tina and husband Randy Meadows of Thomasville, N.C. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a lot of family and friends, esp. Ted
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Reverend James Bassett officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
