FALLS MILLS, Va. —
Raymond W. “Red” Tabor, 78, of Falls Mills, VA, entered into his eternal rest Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA from injuries sustained in an accident.
Born in Falls Mills, VA, he was the son of the late George E and Annie Marie Harris Tabor. He was a member of the Falls Mills United Methodist Church. “Red” was a kind hearted soul who never met a stranger. He saw the good in everyone and was very accommodating and helpful to those who were in need. He loved farming and growing a garden. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Donald Edward Tabor, an infant brother, James Roger Tabor and sister, Margaret Marie Berbert.
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Jerry Tabor and wife Janet of Bluefield, VA, Judy Bryant and husband Ivan of South Hill, VA, Connie Owen of Roanoke, VA, Randy Tabor of N. Tazewell, VA, Brenda Perkins and husband Ray of Bluefield, VA and Anthony Tabor of Falls Mills, VA.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Tabor will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Falls Mills United Methodist Church with Dr. Ken Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabor Cemetery, Falls Mills, VA. Pallbearers will be Cole Davis, Hunter Broyles, Tim Brooks, Keith Tabor, John Broce, Bill Epperson and Darrel Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bub Smith, Richard Jessee, Bob Walk and Arnold Mitchem.
Friends may visit with the family tonight from 7-9 p.m. at the Falls Mills United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Falls Mills United Methodist Church in Mr. Tabor’s memory.
Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, VA is serving the Tabor family.
