KEEN MOUNTAIN, Va. —
Peggy Lou Altizer Webb, 77 years of age, of Keen Mountain, VA, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Born December 31, 1935 in Keen Mountain, VA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Walter (Slick) Altizer and Essie Whittaker Altizer.
Peggy was a 1955 graduate of Garden High School, loved to cook, enjoyed working with flowers and had a love for animals, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Zion's Hill Baptist Church, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, Samuel Walter (Slick) Altizer and Essie Whittaker Altizer, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wade and Willis Altizer and two sisters, Tootsie Matney and Aileen Brown.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Johnny s. Webb of Keen Mountain, VA; daughters, Kim Meade and husband Robert and Traci Hackney and husband Brian both of Tazewell, VA; son, Chris Webb and wife Cynthia of Tazewell, VA; sisters, Joann Johnson of Keen Mountain, VA, Janie Coleman and husband Roger of Vansant, VA; brother, Sam Altizer of Abingdon, VA.
She is also survived her grandchildren: Mike Webb and wife Stephanie of Richlands, VA, Matthew Webb and wife Emily of Myrtle Beach, SC, Trevor and Brook Vilacha both of Tazewell, VA, Tammy Smith and husband Greg of Tazewell, VA, a special granddaughter, Rhytts Hackney, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Peggy Lou Altizer Webb will be conducted at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinch Valley Memorial Gardens, Richlands, VA.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, nephews and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Breeding, Curt Breeding, Mike Smith, Kennedy Bartley, James Keen and Michael Justice.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Saturday, October 26, 2013 after 6:00 p.m.
