ROCKY GAP, Va. — And Jesus said, “Daughter, be of good cheer, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”  Luke 8:48.

Betty Hagy Morehead Webb, age 62, of Rocky Gap, VA passed to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2013 after a long illness with cancer.

She was born in Tazewell, VA on December 29, 1950 to the late Walter and Fannie Hagy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, of 38 years, David L. Morehead; a son, Michael E. Morehead; sisters, Rita  Hagy, Mary Altizer, Geraldine Short and Lola Vance; brothers, Luther, Troy, Roger, Robert “Rob” and John Hagy.

Betty was a member of Rocky Gap Methodist Church. She was a devout Christian and shared her faith with everyone. She enjoyed being outside working in her garden, planting flowers, and sitting on her back porch watching hummingbirds. Above all she cherished spending time with her granddaughters. They were the light of her life. In the past few years, she and her husband were able to travel and make invaluable memories.

Survivors include her husband, Harlan “Ray” Webb of Rocky Gap, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Timothy Saylor of Rocky Gap, VA; granddaughters, Kristen Rocque and Mikayla Saylor of the home; sisters, Shirley and Roger Clemons of Tazewell, VA, Josie Angle of Bluefield, WV; brothers, Walter Hagy, Jr. of Tazewell, VA, Raymond and Maryann Hagy of Grapefield, VA; sister-in-law, Carla and Michael Eidson of Ceres, VA, Pearl Hagy of Bland, VA; brother-in-law, Robert and Kathy Webb of Wentzville, MO and special stepsons, Dennis and Betty Frye of High Rolls Mountain, NM, Jeff and Iris Frye of Waipahu, HI. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and church family.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Rocky Gap Methodist Church with the Reverend Rodney Lawson and Reverend Phillip Moran officiating. Interment will follow in Bishops Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rocky Gap United Methodist Church.
