OAKWOOD, Va. —
Jimmie Glen Keen, 70 years of age, of Oakwood, VA, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 1, 1942 in Grundy, VA, he was the son of the late Shade and Josie Keen. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA #1509, a member of the Keen Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, working puzzle books. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
In addition to his parents Shade and Josie Keen, he was preceded in death by his sisters Leona Keen, Stella Ramsey and Loriane White, brothers Ervin, Roy and Raymond Keen.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Bonnie Sue Clifton Keen of Oakwood, VA; son Michael Glenn Keen and wife Jeannie of Salem, VA; sisters Thelma Brown and husband Frank and Jean Riggs both of OH; brothers Sherman Keen and wife Rosella of TN, Leonard Keen and wife Faye of Keen Mountain, VA.
He is also survived by two grandchildren Olivia Paige Keen and Christian Matthew Keen as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jimmie Glen Keen will be conducted at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 12:00 noon with the Reverend Randy Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery, Keen Mountain, VA.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Keen, Jared Keen, Brian Keen, Ron Clifton, Ricky Clifton, Junior White, Randy Keen and Teddy Keen.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Keen Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday after 6:00 p.m.
