Joseph Thomas “Billy Bob” Bridgeman, 53, of Camp Creek, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley. Born September 7, 1960 at Wilmington, NC, he was the son of Betty Jo Thompson Bridgeman of Princeton and the late Charles Arthur Bridgeman.
Joe worked for BFT Trucking Co. in Farmer City, IL. He served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than anything, he loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 20 years, Kathy Shrewsbury Bridgeman of the home; one son, Timothy Joseph Bridgeman and his companion Samantha Taylor of Cool Ridge; one daughter, Tiffany Marie Bridgeman Hagerman and her husband Michael of Bluefield, VA; one stepson, Kevin Burrell Walker and his wife Amanda of Mount Hope; two sisters, Beatrice Ann Bridgeman of Beckley and Amy Lee Lockhart of Pearisburg, VA; one brother, Charles “Boch” Bridgeman, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Montcalm; five grandchildren, Matthew Cecil Walker, Haley Hagerman, Colton Hagerman, Taygan Bridgeman and Ryder Bridgeman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Jessie Parker officiating. Interment will follow at the Shrewsbury Cemetery at Beeson where military rites will be conducted.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
